Richard (Rocky) Romano Bio.
Rocky's designs were born out of a passion for creating, practicing, and perfecting art. As a web programmer, graphic designer and musician, he enjoys artistic expression through various mediums.
Since he was 10 years old, Rocky has used music as an outlet for these passions. In 1996, he was selected from a rigorous international audition process to be a part of the 1996 and 1997 nationally televised, 70 member Disney's Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra (DYMSO). The orchestra's performances were aired on the Disney Channel, and had star guests such as Michael Bolton, John Williams, Elmer Bernstein, and Paula Zahn.
At age 18, Rocky was accepted into the internationally renowned and prestigious Cleveland Institute of Music, where he studied with the Cleveland Orchestra's Paul Yancich (Principal Timpani) and Richard Weiner (Principal Percussion). During his undergraduate studies he also attained a minor in computer science from Case Western Reserve University. In 2005, Rocky was accepted into the National Repertory Orchestra (NRO), an audition process that selected just three percussionists from over eighty percussion applicants from across the country. Rocky's professional music experience includes performances with the Phoenix Symphony, Cleveland Pops, and the Erie Philharmonic.
As a web developer, Rocky has worked professionally for over 2 years, designing and developing internet web site solutions in both freelance and office environments. Rocky's time as an intern at Arts Engine, Inc., afforded him incredible opportunities to work with a team on varying web projects that included the modification and creation of template based web pages, newsletters, and various graphic designs. Rocky translates the disciplines he learned from preparing for auditions and competitions in music, particularly the process of fine tuning details and preparing projects with deadlines, into his design/programming work.
